Sugar Glider

Have you ever seen a Sugar Glider? I had never seen one or heard of one for that matter, until my neighbor girls brought theirs over. This little girl is still a baby just 3-4 months old. When full grown they are able to glide up to 100 feet using the extra skin from their elbow to their knee as wings. These are members of the Marsupial family. They home land is Australia, right next to the Kangaroo (my favorite animal).

They do make a bit of noise when scared or lonely, similar to a barking.

They really need to bond. They are marsupials and love to be close and need a lot of attention.

They have a very strict diet. It consists of a vegetable, fruit and a protein every day.

When not being held they prefer to be kept in a pouch. The will cuddle up and sleep there and will not poop there because it is there cozy spot. When she comes out watch out! My son had it running right down his back! All worth it to handle this rare animal! Thanks so much girls.
